The concept of the competition design for the new autobahn maintenance centre is considerably influenced by the separate traffic development for employee and company traffic. The access road for the employees leads across the “ecoplus business park area” in the south while in the north an ideal connection to the autobahn is created for company traffic. Therefore, conflict-free processes can be guaranteed for daily operations of the autobahn maintenance centre.
Despite its modern objectivity, regional tradition should not be missing. The appearance of the new autobahn maintenance centre unites modernity and tradition through a nature-loving, but still puristically designed wooden facade, which creates the bridge between the environment and the industrial use of the building.
